My Stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott (Cancun Airport)
Needing a hotel near Cancun Airport for an early flight, I chose the Fairfield Inn & Suites for its proximity and seamless shuttle service—bypassing the pre-dawn taxi hustle.
After sifting through various accommodations, the Fairfield Inn stood out for its glowing reviews and promised value. My stay confirmed it: a comfortable, stress-free pre-flight haven.
If you’re in need of a convenient airport hotel, whether for early departures or late arrivals, you can read my review below.
And if you’re already ready to book, you simply need to click on the following greeb button:
The room
I opted for the room with the king bed and it was a dream: plush, incredibly comfortable—just what’s needed to unwind post-flight or at a trip’s close (and I was beat!).
The room was spotless, smartly laid out with a sizable flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and efficient air conditioning.
The bathroom shone, paired with a welcoming hot shower.
Surprisingly, my room’s view offered a serene glance at trees, a pleasant departure from the usual parking lot or highway vista of most “convenient” hotels.
The facilities
The on-site restaurant offers a no-frills dining experience with a menu of quick bites like pasta, sandwiches, and salads—available for room service as well.
While the fare was straightforward, the attentive service stood out.
The hotel is well-equipped with ample power outlets and reliable internet access.
I appreciated the bright atmosphere created by large windows that open out to a terrace, overlooking the pool and garden.
There’s a convenient self-service section by the reception with an assortment of snacks and drinks, complete with a mini-oven and microwave for guest use.
The pool area, embraced by lush greenery and dotted with loungers and umbrellas, provides a tranquil spot for a select few at any time, reflecting the hotel’s typically brief guest stays.
The compact yet sufficient gym is open round the clock, stocked with water and towels.
During my stay, I discovered two outdoor terraces on the second floor—a quiet haven for those looking to work outside, with strong wifi coverage.
Hotel Shuttle Service
The complimentary shuttle service to the airport operates hourly.
It stops at the nearby Courtyard by Marriott before proceeding to airport terminals.
Despite my initial worry about timing, the morning transfer was swift, taking just 10 minutes to reach Terminal 4, thanks to minimal early traffic and the hotel’s prime location.
- Remember to check your departure terminal in advance.
The hotel thoughtfully provides a grab-and-go breakfast for those leaving before the restaurant opens.
My take on the hotel
My time at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott was very positive.
It’s an ideal spot for comfort and convenience near Cancun airport, whether before a flight or after a late arrival.
The hotel is quiet, well-kept, and offers ample electrical outlets and solid wifi—perfect for winding down after exploring the Riviera Maya.
While it seems to attract couples and business travelers, the amenities are family-friendly too.
The only drawbacks were the unavailable self-service laundry and the food, which was good but could be improved.
