Looking to Rent a Car to Visit Mérida?

The easiest way to visit Mérida is to rent a car because buses are limited and there’s so much to see in the surrounding area.

While it’s not super useful to visit the city, having a car is a must to discover the rest of the country.

To rent a car, personaly, I always use Booking.com Cars, for a few reasons:

  • You can easily compare the rental cars prices between all the agencies: for sure the easiest way to find the best rate!
  • Cancellation is often offered free of charge: no need to worry if you change your mind
  • Booking Cars offers full insurance coverage at a lower price than the rental companies, so it’s an instant saving with no effort

Simply click on the green button to find your rental car at the best price:

How to Find a Cheap Flight

The Mérida International Airport receives many domestic flights, as well as direct international flights from Houston, Miami, Dallas/Fort Worth, and (seasonally) Toronto and Los Angeles.

You should compare prices with the Cancun International Airport, but take into account that it is a 4.5-hour drive away.

To book a cheap flight to Mérida or Cancún use our flight comparison tool in collaboration with Skyscanner. It’s the best way to get the lowest price!

Getting from the Airport to Your Hotel
The simplest and most comfortable way to easily get from the Mérida airport to your hotel (or vice versa) is to book this private transfer (click here!) in an air-conditioned van.

The cheapest option is to take the blue “Va y Ven” bus which makes several stops in Mérida like Parque Santa Lucia and the ADO bus station in the historic center for 45 pesos one-way.

However, even though they officially say it runs every 30 minutes, it’s more like every hour, so you need to be patient.
